On the basis of foreign trade and customs, DESY requires its suppliers to ensure proficient and timely provision of export control and foreign trade information. 

The supplier must fulfil the respective applicable requirements of national and international customs and foreign trade law for all goods to be delivered and services to be rendered, and hold all export licenses required for the provision/order fulfilment.

Suppliers must provide all information and data related to the individual goods/service required by DESY for compliance with the applicable customs and foreign trade regulations for the (re-)export and (re-)import of the goods and services in writing as early as possible, at the latest by the delivery date. The information required includes, in particular: 

• The current commodity code (customs tariff number or HS (harmonized system) code)
• The Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) according to the U.S. Commerce Control List (CCL), if the product is subject to U.S. Export Administration Regulations (e.g. due to the country of origin = U.S.)
• All applicable export list numbers (e.g. Dual-use list position number from the EC Dual-Use Regulation and/or the national export list)
• The country of origin (non-preferential origin of goods) and,
• if additionally required: Supplier’s declarations on the preferential origin of goods (for European suppliers) or preferential certificates of origin, such as movement certificate EUR. 1 (for non-European suppliers)
